Two days in

I decided to start this blog to record my own thoughts and impressions from this monumental, or possibly just mental, ride.

It's the intensity of experience. It might be that we have had strong sunlight for much of the last two days, but it seems that every second of passing through the landscape is etched into my brain. Colours, smells, wind on the body - some Jersey cows in a distant field set against the sapphire Atlantic were a perfect shade of brown that harmonised perfectly. An apparently endless supply of skylarks sang their hearts out at spyplane altitudes, to an accompaniment of chaffinches and blackbirds. A pasty-scavenging crow locked gazes with me bridle before turning away, revealing shimmering blue tones to his sooty blackness...

So I've had trouble staying asleep, waking about 4 to lie listening to my brain processing all this input. Maybe writing it down will help with that.
